הירח החדש נראה מישראל ביום שישי א' טבת. לא קיבלתי דיווחים מארה"ב על ראייה ביום חמישי כ"א כסלו. לאחר השעה חמש הראייה הייתה קלה מאד מאחר והירח כבר היה על רקע כהה לחלוטין

ביום רביעי הירח נראה על ידי אוגוסטוס פאול מברזיל. בישראל לא היה אפשר לראות את הירח
ביום חמישי הראייה בישראל הייתה קלה מאד, אפילו מעט משעממת וצופים רבים ראו את הירח עוד לפני השקיעה

Here is the report for the month of Kislev. Seeing the moon on Wednesday was impossible from Israel, but possible from Brazil and US. On Thursday the seeing was extremely easy from Israel before sunset (and of course after).

שלום לכולם וחודש טוב
לא קיבלתי תצפיות על ראיית הירח החדש מישראל ביום שלישי וגם לא ביום רביעי שהיה מעונן מאד.
כמו כן אני מתקן טעות מההודעה הקודמת. שמו של החודש הוא מרחשוון. לא חשוון ולא מר-חשוון.
המשמעות באכדית היא הירח השמיני - waraḫsamnu ולאחר חילופי אותיות ו' עם מ' התקבל מרחשוון.
השם קוצר והתחילית מר הוספה מחדש בתוספות נימוקים שמר הוא טיפת מים ושהחודש מר כי אין בו חגים
עם עליית יהדות אתיופיה לארץ הוחל לציין גם בארץ את חג הסיגד, ולכן גם במרחשוון יש חג.
ובכל אופן טוב לחזור למקור המלא מרחשוון.
בשתי תצפיות ראו את הירח מחוץ לארץ ביום שלישי פרטים למטה

Hi All. The moon was not seen from Israel on Tuesday or on Wednesday. Both days were cloudy.
Also I would like to fix an error form my previous message.
The name of this month is Marcheshvan not Cheshvan and not Mar-Cheshvan. The Mar is not an addition but part of the Akkadian origin which  is waraḫsamnu which means the eighth month.

There were two positive viewing from the USA and Brazil

שלום לכולם וגמר חתינה טובה

סליחה על האיחור במשלוח אולם החודש קצת (!) עמוס וגם ב"ה הצטרפו צופים רבים והרשימה ארוכה. בהתאם לבקשתו של שמואל מגדי, מי שיכול להוסיף בדוח תצפית את ההפרש בין זמן השקיעה לזמן המקומי לזמן הראייה (כמובן שיכול להיות גם הפרש שלילי) תבוא עליו הברכה. לי אישית אין אפשרות לחשב את הנתונים עבור כל המיקומים השונים, מה גם שיש הפרשים גם בתוך אותה עיר בהתאם כמובן לגובה.

New moon of Tammuz 2012

שלום לכולם

הירח החדש של חודש תמוז נראה בישראל ביום חמישי. אני ראיתי את הירח החדש באוניברסיטת בר-אילן, כאשר הירח השקיף על טקס קבלת תוארי בוגרי ומוסמך בו השתתפה אשתי שסיימה תואר MBA. הטקס וההכנות גרמו לכך שראיתי את הירח מאוחר למדי.

מצורפות תמונות של יצחק הרטמן (כל מה שמתחיל בתאריך) ושתיים שלי, הירח מעל רחבת הטקס, ותקריב של הירח. הירח לא היה ממש חדש ולכן אפשר לראות עליו פרטים. בתמונה שלי רואים בבירור, הר באמצע מכתש שמטיל צל קטן. לפי מיטב הבנתי זהו מכתש HAHN, אשמח לאישור הזיהוי.

החודש מישראל אירוע יפהפה של התכסות צדק. הירח יכסה את צדק וירחיו. זה יקרה במוצאי שבת בלילה בין ה-14 ל-15 בחודש. מומלץ לראות אפילו ללא אמצעים אופטיים אבל כמובן שהמראה בטלסקופ מרהיב. הרחבה בהמשך החודש.

Hello all. The new moon of Tammuz was seen from Israel, Thursday night. I saw the moon in Bar-Ilan university as my wife got her MBA degree! This is my excuse for the very late seeing this month. I attaches the photos of Ira Hartman with two of mines. Please notice that in the closeup of the moon, a mountain within a crater is clearly visible. I think it is Hahn crater and will be happy for verification.

And this month we have a superb occulation! The moon will cover Jupiter and its moons. this will be at July 15th and I will update with more details.

שלום לכולם.
לא קיבלתי דיווחים על ראיית הירח ביום שני ביום שלישי הירח נראה בישראל. הצופים דיווחו על תנאי אובך ועננות שהיקשו מאד על ראיית הירח. אני ראיתי את הירח קודם במשקפת ומיד אחר כך בעין בצורה מאד לא ברורה (בלי לראות אותו במשקפת לא הייתי רואה בעין). כשהירח שקע יותר לתוך האובך ראיתי רק במשקפת ובמצלמה.

החודש נהיה עדים למאורע נדיר במיוחד מעבר נוגה על פני השמש. כדאי מאד להתארגן כבר מעכשיו ולתכנן איך הולכים לצפות באירוע. שאלות בנושא בבקשה להפנות אלי ישירות gadieid@gmail.com

Hi All.
I did not receive any observations reports from Monday. The moon was seen in Tuesday. In Israel the weather was not good as Roy Hoffman tells:

  I saw the Moon last night from Ma'ale Adummim. The sky was very hazy and the naked eye observation very difficult. The Moon was already visible with binoculars when I started at 19:46 and became visible to the naked eye at 20:02 till it faded at 20:06. It was still clearly visible with binoculars at 20:09 when I left. The weather conditions were 23½°C, RH34%, P 963 mbar.

  I enclose the written report and two photographs that show what a difference 13 minutes make. DSCF2315a.jpg was taken at 19:52 when the Moon could not be seen with the naked eye. Because I could not see it, I did not get it all in the frame. This picture required a lot of contrast enhancement and the partial crescent is very difficult to see. I might have been able to do better had I adjusted the exposure more carefully. However it does answer the question as to whether an 'invisible' Moon can be photographed with the kind of camera that we were discussing with Augustus yesterday. DSCF2324a.jpg shows the Moon at 20:05 and is not contrast enhanced. You can compare the two photographs with Photoshop by pasted the earlier one on top and adjusting the transparency. The crescents fit exactly.
